But the most difficult thing in sting pollution is not the formation of soot (it can always be removed mechanically), but the formation of oxides.

Aspirin cleans well the copper tips of a soldering iron.
It may not be possible to overcome oxides from the first time even with the help of purchased means. If you have to solder a large number of surfaces with different chemical compositions and the boards themselves, and solder, then specific oxides are formed. You can try not only store, but also folk remedies. The main thing - to take into account the alloy sting. On copper you can experiment more boldly. And for multi-blade tips, it is best to experiment on broken tips.
Some suggest cleaning with an aspirin tablet. This method has shown itself quite well on the brass tips. The downside is that if the temperature is not calculated correctly, aspirin can form a hard carbon, which then will have to be carefully cleaned. Therefore, it is better to use this method on the eternal tips after repeated experiments on copper.
It is believed that the correctly chosen sponge will help to cope even with oxides. Sometimes it works. Someone helps regular cellulose, and someone - sponzh extracted from a girl's or a girl's cosmetic bag with some unknown composition. But this composition allows you to get rid of persistent oxides.
The consequences of oxides are especially unpleasant for soldering irons of micro-soldering, when it is necessary to solder with sidewalls, and not with all the tip of the sting. If synthetic methods do not work, then some use nozzles for a drill or a jewelry drill. The softest set of brushes can really help if you work very carefully.
