Clamp is called a special clip, which is convenient to use in everyday life for fixing certain parts. To some extent, the clamp resembles a vice. Any clamp consists of several functional parts. These include clamping lips, a movable element, the main frame and base.

The most convenient are the clamp type angular. They can fix almost any details, even those to which access is somewhat difficult. You can easily make it with your own hands from metal objects or even from wood.
Wooden Angle Clamp
Making an angular clamp of wood does not give you much difficulty, especially if you possess the minimum skills to work with such material. It is very important to choose the right wood. Oak, ash, birch, hornbeam or beech is best suited for this purpose. Carefully inspect the tree for cracks and insect damage. Humidity should be no more than 12%.
You will need 2 wooden plates, which are about 20 cm long and about 15 cm wide. The thickness should be at the level of 2 cm. Another 2 bars should be 25 cm long and 2 cm wide and thick. You can find them or buy ready-made, and you can cut a jigsaw out of wood.

In addition to the tree you need to stock up and tool. As it you will need metal nuts and bolts (screws). Self-tapping screws need 4. At the same time, two of them are about 20 cm long, and the other two are about 11-12 cm, with a diameter of 5 mm. You can take your own sizes, but the presented figures are optimal for the highest quality assembly.
When everything is ready, you can take up and assembling the design of the corner clamp together. First, place on a flat table two long slats - one edge up and the other way around. With the help of a drill it is necessary to make holes in them that will be fastened to the retaining elements.
Next, work with the plates. One plate is quite firmly mounted to the bottom rail so that the holes in the rail coincide with the future holes in the plate for fastening the adjusting screw. After that, parallel to the first plate, the second one is fastened through a self-tapping screw passing through them. Just by twisting it will adjust the degree of clamping.
But in order for the clamp to acquire the shape of an angle, it is necessary to drill more holes at the ends of the rails, where you can screw another one or two plates or rails with screws. Just before fastening, measure exactly the evenness of the angle, which should be exactly 90 °.
So, the wooden mechanism of the corner clamp is ready. If the work is done correctly, you will get something like this (Figure 1). As can be understood from the diagram, with the help of a screw between the plates, which regulates the clamping force, a piece of wood is held, as in a vice.

The second option - making your own corner clamp from metal.
This clamp with your own hands will allow you to accurately fix the details at a right angle. At the same time, its service life is not limited, which makes it possible to use the tool safely.
As tools, in addition to two pieces of metal strip, you need to additionally purchase two ready-made clamps with screws. Also prepare the welding machine, fitter and mittens.
Wearing mittens to protect the mittens, weld two strips to the square, while leaving the same distance from the corner of about 2 cm. Screw clamps are welded over these strips so that any part can be placed between them in the clamps. Another strip of metal is welded between the clamps as an additional fixing base.
During operation, care must be taken to ensure that all the parts to be welded to the square are equally spaced apart.
It is very important for further operation. The clamping force is adjusted by turning the screws on the finished clamps.
So, the process of how you can easily make corner clamps of wood and metal with your own hands is fully considered. The first option is budget, the second is more expensive. So what to do is up to you. Just do not forget to take into account the frequency of use and the desired lifetime. After all, the second option can serve you forever, it is more accurate. The first can be damaged, it is not so accurate. But pretty economical.
