The disk corner power-saw bench serves for longitudinal sawing of a tree trunk. This machine is powered by electrical energy. The components that make up this unit are as follows:
- one or two circular saws;
- mobile carriage;
- electric motors (figure 1).

The single-blade power-saw bench saws logs in two positions - vertically and horizontally. This is achieved due to the absence of idling - the carriage has the ability to move along and across the tree trunk.
Two-disc version is different in that the saws are mounted at 90 degrees to each other. Therefore, the angle sawmill can work orthogonally and has great performance.
There are more simple designs of such machines. They consist of the following elements:
- moving carriage;
- two electric motors - one serves for movement, and a circular saw is fixed on the other.
This sawmill is called horizontal. The carriage in both types of construction is made of metal and must move freely on the rollers along the guide rail.
The cost of such equipment is quite high, and therefore many prefer to make them themselves. This allows you to save money and get a unit that is not inferior in its characteristics to industrial designs.
Self-made disc power-saw bench - how to make it

To create such a machine yourself, you need to have the skills and desire to use the tool. To get started, you need the following:
- construction goats (wooden or metal);
- metal plates;
- Electrical engine;
All this can be purchased in the construction market. Then you need to choose from the whole variety of schemes of similar machines that which has a simpler design - it consists of a table, under which the electric motor and the shaft with a circular saw are fastened, connected by a belt drive. The teeth segment protrudes above the surface of the table. Wood is propelled along its plane and directed to the saw. This is the simplest self-made disc power-saw bench.
To create such a unit, you must first make a frame. For this, the goats are connected with boards. Their length depends on the size of the material that will be processed on this machine. Next, proceed to making the surface of the table. It consists of metal plates (steel or duralumin can be used) with a width of 230-250 mm and thickness up to 1.2 mm. They need to be interconnected by jumpers and screws and mounted on a wooden base, mounted on the trestle. All parts are combined with screws and nuts. Between the plates, you must leave a distance. After their fixing there it is necessary to make a groove in the base tree. It must be of such size that the circular saw does not touch its walls. If it is possible to apply electric welding, then the table can be made of channels, having welded them in the shape of a square - then the hole will turn out to be of sufficient size.
Sawing installation scheme.
Cutting tools can be bought on the construction market - it should be at least 450 mm in diameter. But you can try to make it yourself. For this, a blank (of tool steel or duralumin) with a caliber of 400-500 mm and a thickness of 3 mm is needed. To turn it into a circular saw, you need to make two or three teeth on it - this is quite enough to cut the most diverse wood.
To create incisors, you can use broken drills or carbide plates. They need to be welded (soldered) to the disk. Note that the power-saw bench will work reliably only if the cutting angle at the teeth is 27-32 °, and the rear gathering is up to 15.
After assembling a homemade circular saw, it must be carefully balanced - the quality of the cut depends on it. The cutting element is fixed on the shaft, which can be turned to the desired size on a lathe. It is possible to buy in the market an already assembled unit with an output shaft and pulleys for a belt drive. All this is mounted at the bottom of the hole under the table, and the output end of the shaft should fall in the middle of the slot.
A homemade or finished circular saw is put on the shaft and fastened. The electric motor must be strengthened from above and have the possibility of a small movement - this is necessary for tightening the belt.
