Preparation for work
It is not difficult to make a concrete mixer with your own hands, it is only important to choose the appropriate type of construction and have the necessary materials on hand. As for the type of construction, there is an electric and manual concrete mixer. It will be a question of making both options, although it is enough to give an example of the first option in order to understand how to make a manual device yourself..
For the manufacture of the mechanism will require the following tools and materials:
Concrete mixer device.
- Barrel of 200 liters.
- Electrical engine. In this case, fit the internal combustion engine or a DC generator.
- Two housings with bearing.
- Nails and hammer.
- Handle and door hinges.

Bottom should be fixed axis, which is required for the wheels and move the device. Valve having a diameter of 43 mm will be suitable as an axis. You should grind the ends so that the length of the reinforcement is 41.5 mm. The wheels will be located at these ends. They can not do, because if the construction is carried out in one place, they are not necessary.
For a concrete mixer, you need to make a turning mechanism that will allow the barrel to roll over to pour the mixture. For its manufacture will require two metal pipes with a diameter of 60 mm. In addition, you need to have two stops, plugs and handles, bearing housing. These items need to be welded. The cap, tilting handle and backstop should be welded after the turning mechanism is fixed in the bearings.
The barrel will rotate in the bearings, while not approaching them. For convenience, you need to fix the turning mechanism so that it does not interfere further in the work. To do this, the usual wire or pin. For this purpose, it is necessary to make a hole in the front ring and the tube of the rotator.
Bearing housings need to be turned, which will require a steel pipe. It will accommodate ball bearings and shaft capacity. Thrust rings are needed to hold the bearings. The shaft is inserted into the bottom of the barrel, where you first need to drill a hole. Carry out the fastening of the shaft using nuts and two washers. On the tailpiece you need to screw another nut, which is necessary for securing the shaft in the bearings.

The following is a design drawing (Figure 2). At the heart of this design is the engine, switch, V-belt and pulleys. Elements taken from an old washing machine. The engine is attached to the rotator with steel strips. One end of the strip must be screwed to the pipes of the turning mechanism, and the other end to the engine.
On the other side of the engine in four places it is necessary to attach the intermediate roller housing. This item is the main element. The holes in the attachment points are different - two are cylindrical, and two are arcuate. They will allow adjustment of the belt tension of the intermediate roller and on the pulleys. Rotation of the roller occurs in two bearings in the housing. At the second end, the gear wheel from the starter should be located, in this case it was used from GAZ-51.
There is an eye in the case where the bolt of the tension should be installed. To adjust the clamping force of the gear in relation to the gear rims of the barrel, you need to move the eyelet along the bolt, which is achieved by the nut. Making a manual gear

The design of this device does not differ from the previous mechanism. However, there is one thing that fundamentally distinguishes both devices from each other. The difference between a manual mechanism and an automatic one is the need to independently rotate the barrel. On the one hand, this is a negative point, since large volumes of cement are difficult to mix by hand, but, on the other hand, the absence of an engine makes the concrete mixer indispensable in those areas where there is no electricity.
The manufacture of the mechanism corresponds to the previous device. It is necessary to pick up a barrel, find a corner and a metal bar. In addition, you need to take the two levers necessary for rotation, the shaft and the housing of the bearings.
The frame is made of welding corners, resulting in a stand. At the two ends of the tank holes are made necessary for the shaft and mounting bolts. From the side of the tank you need to cut a hole in the form of a rectangle. Inside the tank you need to weld or screw the blades. A steel bar with a diameter of 40 mm is suitable for the shaft.
