In the process of creating a drawing, it will be necessary first of all to determine the pattern of operation of the pressing device:
- The jack is mounted on the base of the bed and presses up.

The height can be folded from the size of the jack, the free movement of its stem, the thickness of the moving working table and the height of the parts that are intended for processing. The jack can be mounted on the base, while the upper part of the frame will be used as an emphasis for blanks. The force from the rod is transmitted to the workpiece through a moving work table. You will need to install it over the jack on the frame, on which he will be able to quickly move up and down. This device should be held guides on all sides.
On both sides of the jack, you will need to fasten the spring-off springs - one eyelet is attached to the base of the frame, the other should be fixed to the moving table. These springs will be used to compress the jack to its original position when the rod is not extended. The stiffness and size of the springs must match. The jack in this case is mounted on a moving table, which is suspended from the upper part of the frame on special springs. Under the head of the jack rod in two working diagrams, a nest is provided on the interface unit. The nest can be located on the bottom of the desktop or on top of the bed. In this case, you can use a small segment of the tube of the appropriate diameter.
In order to regulate the free stroke of the jack rod and the height of the workpieces being processed, the following actions can be performed:
- In the upper part of the bed you will need to make a screw drive with a steering wheel. By twisting the screw with the tile at the end, you can reduce the clearance for the blanks inside the bed.
- In another case, a removable stop is provided, in the role of which a removable moving table is used. This element can be fixed on the frame with bolts and nuts or rods. To do this, in the frame it is necessary to drill holes. The height step must be less than the stroke.
- It is possible to envisage the use of removable lining inserts that are made of a metal profile.

How to make a press from a hydraulic jack yourself: instructions

The jacking platform for the support is the main component of the hydraulic press. The resulting pressure is proportional to the upper nodes and the surface. The base must have increased strength. To do this, you need to prepare several ribs with the same rigidity as at the base. In this case, it is best to use a metal profile of a square or rectangular shape. The dimensions of the device can be 40x50 mm or 50x50 mm. The length of the products should be approximately 250-300 mm. These devices fit the sides to each other. After that, the butt seams in the upper and lower parts are welded by the welding device. Thus it will be possible to increase the rigidity of the base of the press, as a result, the stability of the jack will be increased. You will need to weld a plate of steel 10-12 mm thick to the base. The dimensions of the plate should be 250x200 mm.
In the next step, you will need to make with your own hands an abutment of the press and vertical stands. To make the stops of the hydraulic press construction itself, you will need to saw off 2 blanks of the desired length from a steel tube of rectangular or square shape. In this case, fit only the tube of large thickness. To determine the length of the pipe, you need to find in the instruction of the jack the value of the maximum stroke of the operating rod, then add to the resulting value the height of the jack and the platform for the support. The stop can be made of thick steel tube. This element is connected to the racks by welding, for which you will need to use a welding device. As a result, it will be possible to obtain a U-shaped structure, which is welded to the base.
All elements of the structure will need to connect perpendicularly.
To do this, you will need to weld at a 90 ° angle several angles of steel 40x40 mm onto a sheet 10 mm thick. The connected parts will need to be put in this fixture, and then welded. This way you can set the correct angle. In the next step, you will need to make a removable stop. This device will move along the guides, transfer pressure to the workpiece from the working rod, which is located in the central part of the structure. For the manufacture of such parts will need to prepare a few pieces of strips of steel, whose thickness is approximately 10 mm. The length of the strips should be slightly less than the distance between the racks. These elements will need to be sealed from two sides in several places.
At this stage, the manufacture of a homemade press from the hydraulic jack is completed. When the press is not necessary, the jack can be easily dismantled from the construction and used for its intended purpose.
In order to be able to quickly replace a part in the future, it will be necessary to prepare several through holes, and then cut off 2 plates. The length of the plates should be 10 cm longer than the size of the block. They also need to drill a few holes. To install the unit on the hydraulic press frame, you will need to prepare several long-length bolts, nuts and washers. Such plates will need to be connected to the unit on both sides of the racks.
In the end you will need to make the adjustment of the press from the jack. If there is a need to reduce the free stroke of the piston of the structure, it is necessary to reduce the distance between the top beam of the device and the moving stop. To do this, you need to mount another transition metal square profile. To prepare it, you need to saw off a section of the profile so that its length is equal to the distance between the racks. Next, you need to attach it at the same distance with the weld seam. In this way, the distance of the hydraulic press can be reduced.
To further reduce the movement of the working stem of the structure, you will need to use additional spacers, which are made of a metal profile or of small replaceable anvils.
A similar design can be used in the process of making various stamped patterns on some blanks. You can make commemorative medals or coins of non-solid alloys.
