Chainsaw greatly simplifies the process of cutting wood, but it is worth remembering that this tool is a source of possible accidents. When you purchase a new tool in the kit, the instruction manual of the chainsaw is mandatory. It needs to be studied by everyone who gets to work for the first time using this tool. This will not only prevent the occurrence of damage during improper operation, but also eliminate the possibility of accidents.

Chainsaws, regardless of the model, have common components, which may differ in shape and configuration:

  • engine;
  • clutch;
  • gearbox;
  • sawing machine;
  • directly frame and starter controls.

Getting started with chainsaw

Most of the men immediately after buying a chainsaw want to try it out in practice, while forgetting to study the user manual. Manufacturers strongly recommend initially familiarize yourself with the instructions that will help set up the tool and bring it into working condition. Otherwise, there is a high probability that the instrument will receive irreparable harm during the first operation.

Before you begin the first work with the tool, you need to configure the bus, chain and sprocket. All these elements should work the same. When using the saw for the first time, it is very important to roll in the engine, for this it is worth emptying one tank. It is important not to load the saw, but idling it is also not worth it. Such actions as a result can cause considerable engine wear.

The first thing starting a chainsaw starts is bringing the tool into on mode. Before you run the tool, it is worth a little fuel pump into the carburetor. Then you should pull out the choke and pull out the starter with a sharp jerk. If you do not jerk the starter is sharp, but sluggish, it is likely to fill the spark, and all subsequent attempts to start a chainsaw will be reduced to zero. If this happens, you need to pull out the candle and warm it, as a result of this, all the fumes of the fuel mixture will evaporate.

Basic recommendations for chainsaw instruction manual

Regardless of the model of the instrument, the general recommendations for its use are almost the same and come down to general ones. Observance of such rules will secure a person from injury, and the tool will last much longer.

The working principle of the carburetor chainsaw

The principle of the carburetor chainsaw.

  1. It is very important to hold the tool with both hands, firmly holding the handle. At the same time the thumb of the left hand should be located under the front handle.
  2. When performing work can not stand behind the tool. The worker must be located on the side of the instrument.
  3. Sawing is carried out by the upper or lower edge of the saw. If the cut is carried out by the upper edge, it means the saw moves towards the worker, and it is very important to take this into account during work.
  4. When working, it is better to stand with a flat back and legs bent at the knees, this position will ensure maximum balance.
  5. Moving with the tool turned on is extremely dangerous, so if there is a need to move to another place, the tool should be turned off or put on the brake.
  6. Start cutting is the edge of the tire, located closer to the body.

Operation chainsaw at different times of the year

Dvukatny internal combustion engine, through which the chainsaw works, requires a certain care in different seasons. If the work is done outdoors in the winter, and the temperature is below zero, it is very important to warm up the carburetor. This is necessary because the fuel at such low temperatures can crystallize, making the mixture more viscous. Warming up the carburetor allows the saw to adapt to a similar temperature mode.

It should also pay attention to the sharp change in temperature. If the instrument was stored in the cold, you should not abruptly bring it into a warm room, because condensate forms immediately. Such an accumulation of moisture inside the instrument can cause negative effects associated with the phenomenon of corrosion.

Fuel and its use in the tool

All chainsaws are equipped with two-stroke internal combustion engines.

Chainsaw fuel system

Fuel system for chainsaws: 1 - fuel filter, 2 - carburetor, 3 - manual pre-priming pump.

This means that there are two tanks that are designed for fuel and oil. On average, the capacity of the fuel compartment is from 0.3 to 1 liter, in turn, the capacity for oil will be exactly half the size. This proportion is calculated so that all fuel and oil run out at the same time.

Manufacturers recommend to refuel chainsaws, specially prepared fuel mixture, which consists of gasoline and oil. Gasoline in its pure form is not recommended. Due to the oil, which is part of the mixture, lubrication of all parts of the two-stroke engine occurs.

To prepare fuel for chainsaws, you need to use only high-quality oils. Almost always, manufacturers indicate in the manual those brands of oils that are preferable to use. Gasoline for refueling the engine must be unleaded. To prepare the fuel oil is added to gasoline.

To do this, use 1000 ml of gasoline and 40 ml of oil. Before pouring the fuel mixture into the saw tank, it is very important to mix well. You should not cook too much mixture, since it can be stored no more than 1.5 months. If you use a mixture that has been stored longer, you can cause a malfunction in the engine.

To begin full-fledged work with the help of a new chainsaw, and especially imported, it is worth making it run-in. This procedure will allow all the details to fall into place and work on each other. In addition, during the run-in you can get the necessary skills to work with the new tool. During the rolling of the new tool you should not give a strong load immediately. Best of all, when the saw is working in a cyclic mode, namely, sawing lasts from 1 to 1.5 minutes, followed by idle for 15-20 seconds.
