Due to the fact that the electric motor is equipped with the technology of “soft start” and allows you to automatically maintain the speed of rotation of the drum at the required level, the possibility of motor overload during its operation is almost completely excluded.

The sole of a plane is made of high-quality aluminum. The back of the sole is fixed, and the front - movable, which allows it to easily move on the still untreated surface and adjust the height, setting the desired depth of wood processing.

Manual planers, like any other electric tool, are divided into household and professional. Household models are cheaper, but professional - better and more reliable.

Household planers are designed for periodic use in the home, they can perform simple work. When using such equipment it is necessary to observe the recommended mode of operation: 15-25 minutes to work, then 10-20 minutes to rest. Engine power. Its ability to work with solid wood will depend on the thickness of the planer. Also, this characteristic is one of the main indicators of the class of equipment: if it does not exceed 0.6 kW, then this is most likely a household sample intended for private use. If the power reaches 1.0 kW or more, then it will already be a professional tool that will successfully cope with any tasks. If you need to process several boards, then an electric planer with a capacity of up to 0.6 kW is quite suitable for you. The optimal power for private use is 0.8-0.9 kW.

The speed of rotation of the drum. The purity of wood processing directly depends on the speed of rotation of the drum. A normal speed is a value of 10,000 rpm. There are more high-speed planers. For example, Interskol and Makita are capable of speeds of up to 16,000 rpm, and Bosch up to 19,000 rpm.

That is, to perform similar actions with a simple plane you would need to do 22,000 movements.

Width and depth of planing. In domestic models, the depth of planing does not exceed 2.5 mm, and in professional models it can even reach 4 mm.

Due to the presence of electronic sensors, it is possible to maintain a stable operation of the equipment: a constant number of revolutions of the drum, idling, smooth start, etc. For safe operation, the tool must be equipped with a protective casing and a lock function against accidental activation.
