The device must be pointed at a well-lit and rather large element, after which it will operate with settings until the filament mesh is displayed on this element as clearly as possible. Further, the same steps should be repeated with the slats, which will be installed on another, not too lighted area. Experimenting with adjusting the focus on elements with different illumination can help in the process of further measurements.

When the device is installed as accurately as possible, aligned and focused, you can measure and record observations. Two strips need to put on the front and rear of the device. The front will show the value of the resulting height, the back will be used for the calibration of indicators. First of all, you need to point the level on the side of the black back bar.

After focusing, you need to record the indicator by strokes. After that, the focus is made on the front plate, the average value is set on its side in red.
