The riveting method is used to connect two or more parts when there is no other way to perform a similar procedure. Most often we use a rivet tool for fixing fasteners from the inside of the part. Therefore, he is an indispensable assistant in the implementation of construction works.

A modern device for installing rivets has a high clamping power sufficient to pierce the material body without destroying its layers. With the help of such a device, you can fix the majority of roofing materials (profiled sheet, ondulin, etc.). Also, riveting is carried out fixation angles, channels and pipes of various shapes of cross-section.

Riveter is made in the form of a pistol. It is equipped with the following parts:

  • spring mechanism;
  • lever system.

The spring mechanism will pull the rivets inward and flatten it using a powerful lever system. In the process of such flattening, a combination of various elements occurs.

The gun is equipped with various nozzles with different diameter. In addition, these nozzles will have a different length of the tail, which also allows the use of fasteners with different lengths. Such removable parts allow the use of a gun for fastening parts of different thicknesses.

Using a mounting gun is not difficult. In addition, when using it, you can use any connecting fasteners. Their size should be selected depending on the dimensions of the fastened material.

Initially, through holes should be drilled in the parts to be joined. The diameter of the drill should correspond to the diameter of the rivet. A short half of fasteners are inserted from the inside. From the outer part is set the second half, which has a greater length. At the same time, it should protrude 10-12 mm above the body of the part.

Having established rivets in a similar way, the working part of the gun is put on the top fastening. Checking the perpendicularity of its location relative to the connecting part, perform its clamping. The clamp should be strong and linear. After that, the lever system is pressed.

With the help of the lever system will be reliable broach steel mounting wire. The metal of this wire will fill all the free space in the body of the riveted part. From its ends a small influx is formed, which will not allow the fastened elements to disperse. Consistently (along the entire joint seam) it is necessary to fasten the remaining fasteners.

It should be borne in mind that after connecting 3-4 points breakage of the wire occurs. After such a breakage, the remnants of the wire should be removed from the gun body with a slotted screwdriver. In addition, in the upper part of the connection there will be a small hole into which you can screw a small screw. This will improve the reliability of the connection parts.

When performing a suture connection, you must consider the size of the assembled parts.

The larger their dimensions, the larger diameter should be prepared connecting hole.

Therefore, the rivet used must have the same diameter.

In the event that the selection of sizes will be a mistake, the quality of the connection will decrease. Such poor-quality assembly can lead to rapid destruction of fasteners. This is due to the fact that the connecting points will not withstand the effects of increased loads not provided for by their design. The consequences of this error will be the breaking of the connecting ends and the subsequent alteration of the connections.
